NEVŞEHİR
COLLEGE OF TOURISM AND HOTEL
MANAGEMENT
The
Tourism and Hotel Management Department of the
college was founded in 1984 and the Tourism
Guidance Consultant
Departmant founded in 1996.
Tourism
and Hotel Management Department
The
program is designed to train administrative
personnel for multi-functional modern hotels,
restaurants and tourist resorts to fulfill all
kinds of requirements, in accordance with the
comtemporary tourism concept.
Tourism
Guidance and Consultant Department
This
program is designed to train guidance consultants
who can inform local and foreign tourists about
nature and cultural assets of Turkey.
The
education of the college is supported by a computer
laboratory, a language laboratory, Internet
facilities, more than 3,500 books, 15 periodical
magazines,as well as countless catalogues and
journals.
Social,
cultural and sports activities are conducted on a
regular basis.
Students
have the oppotunity to find employment in both the
private and public state sectors.
Graduates
can find work in hotels, catering services, travel
agencies, the Ministry of Tourism, private banks,
other private and public enterprises and museums.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND
SPORTS COLLEGE
The
Pysical Education and Sports Department was founded
in the 1991-1992 Academic Year as a department
under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. After a
decision accepted in 1995, it was renamed the
Pysical Education and Sports College. Three
departments and five sub-branches were introduced.
Students can enroll only in the Physical Education
and Sports Trainership Departments. Educational
activities are temporarily carried out in
gymnasiums and buildings in the Sümer street
campus until its buildings are built on the main
campus. The gymnasiums and buildings on the main
campus are also used when necessary.
The
education and training given to students at this
college is designed to train teachers in physical
education and sports for all
grades as well as pysical education centers.
The
college annually accepts students through
preregistration and special skills exams.
On
graduation, students are given the title of
“Physical Education and Sports Teacher.”
Graduates
can be appointed as teachers in schools of the
Ministry of Education, in private schools, in
enterprises of Directorate General of Youth and
Sports, universities, and sports clubs.
KAYSERİ
ATATÜRK HEALTH COLLEGE
The
Kayseri Atatürk Health College was founded in the
1997-1998 Academic Year with undergraduate programs
of Midwifery and Nursing. As well as these
departments, the Nutrition and Dietary Department
was opened in the 1998-1999 Academic Year.
The
Departments of Midwifery and Nursery graduated
their first students at the end of 2000-2001
Academic Year. The Nutrition and Dietary Department
graduates its first students at the end of the
2002-2003 Academic Year.
The
education and training given is designed to train
individuals who are equipped with relavant basic
knowledge and skills including group work ability,
and who have analysis, synthesis and design
abilities as well as life-long learning habits.
After
four years of the undergraduate program in the
Nursing Department, the students receive the title
of “Nurse” and are given diplomas. Graduates of
the department can be appointed to state health
centers and they can find work in the private
centre, as well.
After
four years of the undergraduate program in the
Midwifery Department, the students receive the
title of “Midwife” and
are awarded diplomas. Graduates of the department
can be appointed in primary health services
as well as family planning clinics of health
centers.
The
Nutrition and Dietary Department trains dieticians
after four years of education. Graduates can find
jobs in all kinds of enterprises that have
nutrition services,in health centers, community
homes for children and the elderly, maternal and
child care centers, places that have general
nutrition systems like factories, hotels and
restaurants, and also in private nutrition dietary
centers.
NEVŞEHİR HEALTH COLLEGE
The
Nevşehir Health College was founded in the 1997-
1998 Academic Year with a Nursing Department in Nevşehir
city center. There is a total of 184 students at
the college.
The
college benefits from the academic personnel of
Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine for the
basic lessons in medicine,
and the academic personnel of the Nevşehir Tourism
and Hotel Management Department assists with the
basic tourism lessons which are included in the
program to train tourism health nursing . The
practical work of the vocational lessons are
carried out in laboratories and classrooms in our
college, as well as in health centers in Nevşehir,
the State Hospital, SSK Hospital, A.Ç.S. Center,
Public Health Laboratory, and the summer
apprenticeships are carried out at Erciyes
University Hospital, Kayseri. Student clubs within
the college are organised in order to support
students’ pysco-social development and to
increase social intrection.
The
college, with its four years of undergraduate
program, continues to train qualified health
personnel in line with its targets by continous
development and hence improvement.
Graduates
may be appointed as nurses in all kinds of health
services and they can also find employment in the
private health sector.
YOZGAT
HEALTH COLLEGE
The
Yozgat Health College was founded in the 1997-1998
Academic Year, enrolling 31 students in the Nursing
Department and graduated its first graduates
in the 2000-2001 Academic Year.
The
education is carried out in accordance with the
necessities of the age in 12 classrooms and fully
equipped laboratories. There
is a television, a video, a slide machine, a data
show, a projection, an episcope, a microscope,
and various sketches in the rooms in which
practical courses are carried out. There is also a
computer laboratory, consisting
of 25 computers, in which computer skills lessons
take place. In the school library there are over
3,000 books, including journals and research books
on health and general knowledge.
In
the colleges there are both theoretical and
practical classes. The practical lessons take place
in the Yozgat State Hospital,
Maternity Hospital, Rural Health Centers, the
Mother and Children Care and Family Planning Center
and Social Services Department.
The
aim of the college is to educate health staff with
a master’s degree in accordance with the
necessities of the times.
Since there is only a nursing department in the
college, it contributes to the formation of a
healthy society by educating
professional nurses in order to increase the
quality of nursing so that our patients can be
cured quickly and to protect healthy people.
The
graduates of the college are likely to find work in
both state and private health centers.
CIVIL
AVIATION COLLEGE
The
Civil Aviation Vocational College was transferred
into Civil Aviation College on 17.05.2002. The
college consists of three departments; Aviation
Power – Plant, Aviation Fuselage, and Aviation
Electronics.
The
Aviation Power-Plant and Aviation Electronic
Departments were established in the 2001-2002
Academic Year.
The
education period is 5 years including one year of
English at the School of Foreign Languages. The
main aim of the college is
to train technicians who know a foreign language
and who are informed and skilled in the area of
aviation.
The
education is carried out by professors of other
faculties and colleges and by experts of the Second
Aviation Reinforcement
Maintenance Commandant and the Twelfth Aviation
Transmission Main Installation ommandant.
The
facilities of the command of the Second Aviation
Reinforcement Maintenance Center are used for
practical classes.
In
the college there is an electronic laboratory,
mechotronics laboratory, air tunnel laboratory,
computer laboratory, a machine workshop, a library
and a conference room.
At
the end of every academic year, every student has a
practical training which lasts 80 working days in
institutions and installations such as THY,TAT,TET,
military installations which serve aircraft and
civil airways.
Sometimes
foreign professors come to our college to give a
week based lecture programme.
The
graduates are likely to find jobs in THY, private
airways and in the repair and maintenance centers
of ilitary installations.
SCHOOL
OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES
Students
who have won a place at the Medical Faculty, the
Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Economics
and Administrative Sciences, the Civil Aviation
College, the Tourism and Hotel Management
Department of Kayseri Vocational College must learn
English for one year at the School of Foreign
Languages prior to attending classes in their
faculty/college.
Students
who are enrolled in one of the above mentioned
faculties or colleges and do not want to spend one
year learning English must
take the proficiency exam. If they pass this exam,
they have the right to continue in their
faculties/colleges. However, if they do not,
they have to learn English for one year at the
School of Foreign Languages.
The
aim of the programme carried out in the preparatory
classes is to prepare the students for the foreign
language courses that they take in their faculties
by providing them with the basic knowledge and
skills of a foreign language such as listening,
speaking, reading and writing and to enable them to
gain the skill of following scientific and
technological developments in their chosen field.
This school is located in an area of 5,500 square
meters and has the following:
- an Internet room
- a closed circuit TV / Video room
- an intercom system (A central sound system that
makes it possible to give a listening exam in the
55 classes at the same time)
- an internet cafe
- a conference hall for 300 people. (Every week an
original English film is shown to students with the
aim of improving their listening skill )
- 55 classrooms (maximum 22 students in each
classroom)
