An event was held by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine on the occasion of the 25th founding anniversary of the faculty.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çalış, Kayseri Provincial Head of MHP Adnan İncetoprak, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr. Abdullah İnci, Provincial Health Director Dr. Mehmet Erşan, Founding Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Nejat Aydın, academics and students attended the event held at the Conference Hall of the Faculty.

Making the opening speech of the event, Prof. Dr. Abdullah İnci said that they were happy to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Giving information about the Faculty, Dean İnci said: “In parallel with the rapid development of Erciyes University as a whole with all its units, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine also has had a high rate of development. In our faculty, each department has independent student practice and research laboratories. These laboratories are equipped with the latest advanced technology. Advanced higher education which is based on scientific research and evidence and focuses on first-day skills is carried out in our laboratories with advanced technological equipment, simulation and digitalization/animation facilities. With our absolute belief in democracy, we try to enable our students graduate as intellectual, prestigious and competent individuals who have field skills. Our goal is to improve our student profile every year and raise this profile to higher levels. In line with this goal, we are working determinedly.”

Drawing attention to the fact that the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is a faculty with advanced technological equipment, our Rector said: “Erciyes University is a well-established university with its 44-year history. It is a university ranked 8th among research universities. Of course, our goal is to be in the top five. We strive for this. Our university was fully accredited for a period of 5 years by the Higher Education Quality Council last year.”

Underlining that Erciyes University continues to achieve success, our Rector continued his words as follows: “We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Aykut Özdarendeli for giving a lecture as part of this event. We are one of the few countries in the world with TURKOVAC, our domestic vaccine developed against Covid-19. We are very proud of this achievement.”

After the speech of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Nejat Aydın gave information about the establishment of the faculty.
