BRIEF HISTORY
The history of Erciyes University Graduate School of Social
Sciences dates back to June 1984. First post-graduate educa-
tional activities were conducted under the names of “Business

velop the post-graduate programs “in the fields of literature,
art, and social and economic sciences” as of the Article 41 of
the Law No: 17760 of July 20, 1982.
Today, Graduate School of Social Sciences conducts its activi-
ties with its 21 programs (Master+PhD; Basic Islamic Studies,
Philosophy and Religious, Islamic History of Arts, Economy,
Business, Turkish Language and Literature, History, Sociology,
History of Art, Russian Language and Literature, English Lan-
guage and Literature, Private Law, Public Law, Public Relations
and Publicity, Communication Sciences, Political Sciences and
Public Administration, Philosophy, Tourism Management,
Atatürk’s Principles and History of Turkish Revolution, Japa-
nese Language and Literature, Public Finance, Accounting
and Finance, International Trade and Logistics, Cultural Stud-
ies, Economy and Finance, Arabian Language and Literature,
Korean Language and Literature) within 37 departments (Mas-
ter; Basic Islamic Studies, Philosophy and Religious, Islamic
History of Arts, Economy, Business, International Relations,
Eurasia Studies, Turkish Language and Literature, History, So-
ciology, Sociology (with Selcuk University joint Master Degree
Program), History of Art, Russian Language and Literature,
English Language and Literature, Korean Language and Lit-
erature, Chinese Language and Literature, Private Law, Public
Law, Journalism, Public Relations and Publicity, Radio Televi-
sion and Cinema, Communication Sciences, Political Sciences
and Public Administration, Philosophy, Tourism Management,
Atatürk’s Principles and History of Turkish Revolution, Japa-
