Airframe And Powerplant Maintenance
The aviation sector requires different disciplines to work to-
gether in harmony. Today’s aircraft are equipped with high-
tech airframe and powerplant structures. Advanced technol-
ogy brings out the need for expert technical staff. The aim
of the Faculty Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance De-
partment; to train aircraft maintenance personnel equipped
with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the needs
of maintenance personnel of aviation-related institutions or
organizations. Our department of Airframe and Powerplant
Maintenance provides training as an Aircraft Maintenance
Training Organization (SHY-147) authorized by the General
Directorate of Civil Aviation.
Every year, 70 formal and 60 secondary education, 130 stu-
dents in total, are admitted to the Airframe and Powerplant
Maintenance Department with the Undergraduate Place-
ment Exam (LYS). Educational activities in our department
are carried out by 15 instructors consisting of 1 professor, 1
associate professor, 6 assistant professors, 2 lecturers, and 5
research assistants and 1 aircraft maintenance machinist, 2
aircraft control machinists. In addition, when necessary, lec-
turers from other departments of our university and experi-
enced technical staff from aviation-related public institutions
or organizations give lectures in our department.
There are Aerodynamics, Aircraft Engines, Control, Compos-
ite, Welding, Coating and Aircraft airframe-powerplant labo-
