Department of Turkish Language and Literature
The academic staff consists of seven professors, four associ-
ate professors, two assistant professors, one lecturer, and four
research assistants.
The programme runs daytime and evening education. Within
the Institute of Social Sciences master’s (with or without the-
sis) and doctorate programmes are available.
Department of History

The academic staff of the department consists of 20 lecturers
FACULTIES in total, including six professors, four associate professors, five
assistant professors, and five research assistants.
The programme runs daytime and evening education. Within
the Institute of Social Sciences, master’s (with or without the-
sis) and doctorate programmes are available.
In parallel with general history subjects, local history studies
about Kayseri and its surrounding area are also given in the
department.
Department of History of Art
The academic staff of the department consists of two profes-
sors, two associate professors, one assistant professor, and
four research assistants.

Within the Institute of Social Sciences, master’s (with or with-
out thesis) and doctorate programmes are available.

There are 1500 books in the department library for the use of
our students and researchers.
Department of Sociology

The department of sociology consists of one professor, two
associate professors, three assistant professors, and one re-
search assistant. The department, which not only provides
academic programmes but also aims to work as a research
centre, was established in 2003. It began educational pro-
grammes in 2005 and MA programmes started in the 2006-
2007 academic year. There is also evening education in the
department.
