MUSIAD (Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association) “Türkiye’s Power Awards” found their owners with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. As part of the Award Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Aykut Özdarendeli, Director of the Vaccine Research, Development and Application Center (ERAGEM) of our University was deemed worthy of the Power of the Academy Award.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Defense Industries President Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, Justice and Development (AK) Party Deputy Chairman Binali Yıldırım, Governor of Istanbul Ali Yerlikaya, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çalış, businessmen, artists and academicians attended the award ceremony held at Atatürk Cultural Center in Istanbul.
At the award ceremony held after the speeches of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MUSIAD President Mahmut Asmalı, ERAGEM Director Prof. Dr. Aykut Özdarendeli was considered worthy of the Power of the Academy Award for TURKOVAC, domestic vaccine developed against Covid-19 by our University.
Receiving his award from TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Prof. Dr. Aykut Özdarendeli stated in his speech at the ceremony that he received the award on behalf of the entire TURKOVAC team and thanked for the award.
The ceremony ended after the award winners took a souvenir photo with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
