Faculty Members Receiving TUBITAK and TUBA Awards Visited our Rector

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Soylak (Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science), Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gökhan Halıcı (Department of Biology, Faculty of Science), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Serdar Önses (Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Fatma Betül Altıntaş (Faculty of Theology), who were deemed worthy of the award within the scope of TUBITAK Science, Special, Service, and Incentive Awards and TUBA International Academy Awards and whose awards were presented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, visited our Rector and gave information about their studies.

Our Rector congratulated the faculty members. Stating that they are the second university as Erciyes University to receive the most awards this year, our Rector said: “As Erciyes University, we were very proud of receiving 2 TUBITAK and 2 TUBA awards. You made us proud as the pride of our university. This year, we are the second university to receive the most awards among state universities. This is a great pride for us. We are a research university. One of the indicators of this is that it is not a coincidence that Erciyes University has become a research university and it really deserves this. Last year, we received two awards. This year, we have four awards. One of the parameters of a research university is the number of TUBITAK and TUBA awards. Indeed, the awards you received have been a great contribution for us for 2020 data. The moral value of these awards is above all. One of the top awards that a scientist or a researcher will receive is the Nobel Prize, but before that, considering the country in general, you received one of the greatest awards. You made us quite proud. We wish you a continued success. I thank you on behalf of myself, our faculty members and students.”

The faculty members deemed worthy of the award also thanked our Rector for his contributions.

Our Rector presented plaques and bags to the faculty members at the end of the visit.
