48th Graduation Ceremony was held by the Faculty of Medicine. Within the scope of the program, 281 students graduated.
Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor Abdulkadir Akın, Attorney General of Regional Courts of Justice İlyas Yavuz, Member of Supreme Electoral Council Mahmut Akgün, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çalış, Rector of Nuh Naci Yazgan University Prof. Dr. Kerim Güney, Kayseri Provincial Head of AK Party Şaban Çopuroğlu, Kayseri Provincial Head of MHP Adnan İncetoprak, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Borlu, Provincial Health Director Dr. Mehmet Erşan, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Hızır Yakup Akyıldız, Chief Physician of Hospitals Assoc. Prof. Fatih Horozoğlu, Chairman of Kayseri Chamber of Medicine Türkmen Bahadır Arıkan, faculty members and students attended the graduation ceremony held at Erciyes Culture Center.
Making the opening speech of the ceremony, Nur Muhammed Gündoğan on behalf of the graduates of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of Kayseri Chamber of Medicine Türkmen Bahadır Arıkan congratulated the students.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Hızır Yakup Akyıldız drew attention to the fact that medical education continues throughout the professional life.
Our Rector said: “Established in 1968 under the name of Kayseri Gevher Nesibe Faculty of Medicine and affiliated to Hacettepe University, the Faculty of Medicine is one of the founding faculties of Erciyes University. Our faculty which has had qualified staff and adequate technical equipment since its establishment continues to carry out scientific publications and academic activities. Accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs in 2018, it is a prestigious faculty that has made a name for itself in every field with its increasing success rate every year. Besides educational activities, our faculty also provides health services by following modern medical applications with its advanced technology at the Faculty of Medicine Hospitals.
Addressing the students in his speech, Rector Çalış continued his words as follows: “You graduate from one of the most prestigious faculties of our country as physicians completing the medical education. As members of a sacred profession, you will serve your country and nation. Work hard, endeavor, provide the best healthcare service for people without any discrimination, and never give up in the face of difficulties. Never leave the truth, honesty and justice. Love your profession and practice it in the best way. As the university management, we did our best to support you during your education period in order to maximize your educational and research opportunities and to be with you in all of your social, cultural and scientific activities. Please do not forget your families and your belonging to Erciyes University. Try to be individuals who are innovative, prioritize national and moral values, are sensitive to the basic values of humanity and who can successfully fulfill their professional responsibilities.”
Addressing the families, our Rector said: “Your children graduate from one of the most prestigious faculties of our country. The education they received from our university will guide your children in their professional life, and they will practice their profession as successful physicians. Therefore, be proud of your children. Our young people who are guarantees of our future will serve their country for humanity. We are proud of them.”
Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç wished the graduates success in their professional life. He also thanked families for raising brilliant young people who adhere to the values of their country.
After the speeches, the graduates took the physician’s oath with Prof. Dr. Yaşar Ünlü, a faculty member at the Faculty of Medicine.
The ceremony ended after the students were presented with their diplomas.
