Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, who came together with the students within the scope of the event, “Rectors are Speaking”, organized by TED Kayseri College, had a pleasant talk on the importance of career planning.

He talked about his education and career life and shared his experiences with the students. Speaking at the program, held in order to contribute to the students’ career choices and to improve their questioning skills, our Rector said: “As long as you love your profession, you will be successful.”

Talking about the issue of “career planning”, which the students have encountered frequently in recent years, Rector Altun continued as follows: “Never forget that mother, father and groups of friends are important in career planning. Career planning is actually not an easy thing in this age group because as long as you have different focuses in your mind and different activities you will spend energy on, it will not be easy for you to focus on a certain point. Do not forget that you will talk about career planning again when you begin to study at the university. Considering the effective guidance services in career planning, you have great opportunities because with a good career planning, as long as you work harder, you will see that you will achieve success.”

Giving information about the opportunities, departments and programs of Erciyes University, Rector Altun said: “You shouldn’t waste your time. You should be aware and act accordingly because you will not have this period of time again. What is impossible in life is to bring that time back. While making decisions on your future professions, try to discover your own skills and to choose the appropriate profession for you according to your skills. I advise you to visit universities. Visit the faculty, where the relevant department is available, and talk to the department head in person and receive information. Our advisors will also guide you.”
