FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE

           DEPARTMENTS
           • Agricultural Biotechnology

Agricultural biotechnology is a cutting-edge science incor-
porating biotechnology and agricultural science to modify
organisms, especially plants and animals, for a particular pur-
pose. Agricultural biotechnology has a critical role in securing
food resources, developing advanced biomaterials, treating
plant and animal diseases, and preserving the global environ-
ment. Therefore, education in the agricultural biotechnology
has been considered as an essential part of planning and per-
FACULTIES forming modern agriculture. The Department of Agricultural
Biotechnology encompasses four programs: Plant biotechnol-
ogy, animal biotechnology; food biotechnology; and micro-
bial biotechnology. The department offers undergraduate
and graduate programs in agricultural biotechnology. The de-
partment aims to acquaint students with the latest techniques
and advances in agricultural biotechnology with a strong em-
phasis on understanding the theories, principles, and tech-
niques in different key areas of biotechnology. The MSc. and
Ph.D. students are instructed to have a clear understanding
of molecular genetics, plant cell and tissue culture, molecular
markers and genetic engineering and proteomics.
           • Animal Science
This department deals with the breeding of livestock, their
products, reproduction, improvement, feeding, and nourish-
ment. Our main goals are to provide training for engineers,
technicians, and researchers who will work in the field of live-
stock breeding, and to plan research and development activi-
ties, which will contribute to this branch of science at national
and international levels. To this end, research projects are car-
ried out to provide information to state and private institu-
           tions.
           • Biosystems Engineering
Biosystems Engineering program prepares students for ca-
reers in: - Soil and water resources, - Farm buildings, -Agricul-
tural machinery, - Energy systems. Graduates design systems
