The curriculum prepared for students who are to be trained
as future teachers’ embraces field knowledge, professional
knowledge, and general knowledge, and upholds the stand-
ards required for all educational faculties. Elective subjects are
designed in the criteria of contemporary education. The aca-
demic staff of the department includes: one professor, two as-
sociate professors, ten assistant professors, seven instructors,
and eight research assistants.
• Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education
The Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education was
among the first to be established within Faculty of Education
at Erciyes University. It began to accept students for daytime
programs in the 2002-2003 academic years and for the even-
ing program in the 2005-2006 academic year. Students in this
department are able to benefit from an abundance of tech-
nology including a well –stocked library and computer labora-
tories. Graduates of this department are employed in primary
schools within the Ministry of Education and in private schools.
