An academic collaboration was established between our university and the Turkish Education Foundation for Gifted and Genius Children (TUZDEV).
Our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Oktay Özkan, Prof. Dr. M. Hakan Poyrazoğlu and Prof. Dr. Hakan Aydın also attended the protocol signing ceremony held at the Rectorate Meeting Hall. The protocol covers the procedures and principles of education, certificate programs, training, academic and cultural cooperation between the parties.
Our Rector thanked Surgeon Kemal Tekden for his support in this protocol and said: “One of the duties of universities is the processes in educational activities. It is crucial that these processes proceed properly, and that our young people have the qualifications they need because it has become essential to know more than one language today. What is remarkable here is the education of gifted and genius children. This is a vital and sensitive issue. If these children do not undergo a necessary education, they will fail and have problems. In this sense, we, as Erciyes University, will continue to do our part and contribute to the processes.”
Surgeon Kemal Tekden, Chairman of the Turkish Education Foundation for Gifted and Genius Children, stated that TUZDEV is a foundation for the public benefit and said: “Considering the gifted and genius children in particular, we are in cooperation with the institutions in Türkiye that believe in the importance of human capital, highlight it, and know how vital it is for the country. For this reason, we are here to sign a protocol with Erciyes University, one of the most prominent universities in our country with outstanding achievements. I would like to thank the Rector, who is aware of the fact that there is such a young population in Türkiye and how important it is for the future of our country. If we thoroughly care for these children and hold their hands, they will pave the way for our country in the future. Our first attempt will be a workshop in Istanbul on May 26. Erciyes University will participate in it. I wish this protocol to be auspicious.”
After the speeches, our Rector and Surgeon Kemal Tekden signed the protocol.
As part of the protocol, the parties will provide support to national and international development projects, European Union projects, TUBITAK and all grant programs to be conducted by the foundation, in accordance with the parties’ opportunities and in agreement with the relevant units.
The parties will organize joint academic and scientific events such as congresses, joint research projects, conferences, meetings, symposiums, workshops, and panel discussions, and the conference or seminar halls for joint events will be used, depending on the availability of the relevant unit, and the required staff support will be provided.
The parties will cooperate in the organization of certificate programs such as “Training of Trainers for Gifted Children”, and “Training of Trainers for Mind Games”, for teachers and parents in the province where the university is located, and the university’s trainings will be certified if the foundation meets the necessary conditions.
The priority will be given to the students studying at the relevant faculties of the university in social responsibility projects, press activities, community service practices within the foundation, those taking part in projects to be conducted by both parties, and the relevant units.
