Cooperation Protocol Signed Between Our University and the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism
A cooperation protocol titled “Gaining Cultural Values and Education Through Culture” was signed between our university and the Kayseri Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism.
The signing ceremony took place in our university’s Rectorate Meeting Hall and was attended by ERU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Dursun, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Oya Levendoğlu, Kayseri Museum Director Gökhan Yıldız, and several academics.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Altun thanked all those who contributed to the signing of the protocol. He said: “While universities carry out scientific studies, they also place importance on cultural and various artistic activities, which are one of the lifelines of society. As a strong university with 19 faculties, we attach great importance to such efforts. We continue to contribute to the development of our faculties, especially in the field of tourism. Kayseri is a city rich in cultural and historical heritage. Governor’s Office, Metropolitan Municipality, and the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism are doing great work in bringing these values to light. Our role is to create awareness during the education and training processes and to pass on the knowledge gained from these efforts to our youth. In this sense, the protocol we have signed marks the beginning of an important collaboration.”
Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Dursun also spoke at the event, emphasizing that Kayseri is a city of civilizations: “In the Museum Directorate, we exhibit significant traces of our city's history. Beyond being a display space for artifacts, we aim for our museum to function like a school—a space where ideas can be shared and discussed. With this valuable cooperation protocol, we hope to engage more closely with our university through exhibitions, panels, and by enabling students to conduct various studies and research in our museum. This protocol will be a significant step toward making our museum an essential part of education.”
Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Oya Levendoğlu and Kayseri Museum Director Gökhan Yıldız provided information about the cooperation protocol.
Following the speeches, the agreement was formally signed.
Within the scope of the protocol, the ERU Faculty of Fine Arts and the Kayseri Museum Directorate under the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism will collaborate to raise awareness of, preserve, and promote cultural values; to ensure that lesser-known cultural assets in our historically and culturally rich region are brought into educational use; and to help integrate them more effectively into social life. Through this collaboration, activities such as practical workshops, exhibitions, conferences, and panels will be organized for university students to foster generations who understand and experience their cultural heritage.
