The Theology Program of the ERU Faculty of Theology has been officially accredited by the Theology Accreditation Agency (IAA).

A certificate presentation ceremony, held in the Faculty Conference Hall, was attended by ERU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. M. Hakan Poyrazoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kamil Cihan, Kayseri Provincial Mufti Durmuş Ayvaz, IAA Board Chair Prof. Dr. Halis Aydemir, IAA Vice Chairs Prof. Dr. Rıfat Türker and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Türkan, members of the IAA Evaluation Team, and academics.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Altun emphasized the importance of accreditation processes, stating: “Our ultimate goal here is to provide the highest quality education to our students. It is crucial for us to understand how we can improve through external evaluation processes.”

He continued as follows: “Accreditation processes should be seen as an opportunity for an institution to open itself up for evaluation and to view the process as a path toward improvement. It’s essential that our respected academics provide at least a self-assessment report every term based on student surveys for each course, and that these reports are used to guide improvement efforts.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Dean of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kamil Cihan said: “Reaching this point can be seen as the outcome of many years of effort. It can be challenging for long-established institutions to change their ingrained habits and character. However, the ability to update themselves in the face of new developments and to adapt accordingly is a reflection of an institution’s advancement and quality.”

IAA Board Chair Prof. Dr. Halis Aydemir also gave a speech, providing information about the activities of the Theology Accreditation Agency (IAA).

Following the speeches, the national accreditation certificate for the Theology Program was presented by Prof. Dr. Halis Aydemir to Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kamil Cihan.
