Translator Ali Volkan Erdemir is the 2024 recipient of the Talât Sait Halman Translation Award, which is given by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts in memory of Talât Sait Halman to support the quality literary translations.

As a result of the evaluation, the Selection Committee decided to present the award to Ali Volkan Erdemir, who translated Kenzaburo Oe's novel, “Death by Water”, published by Can Publishing, from Japanese into Turkish.
