als, tissue engineering, neuroscience, nanomedicine, and arti-
ficial intelligence. The research laboratories in the department
include biomedical signal and image processing laboratory,
biosensors laboratory, biomaterials laboratory, biomedical in-
strumentation laboratory, and artificial intelligence laboratory.

           • Environmental Engineering
The department of Environmental Engineering was estab-
lished in 1999, and undergraduate and post-graduate students
were first enrolled in the 2006-2007 academic year. About 400

tivities are still ongoing. The academic staff of the department
consists of three professors, three associate professors, four
assistant professors, and three research assistants.
There are 12 TUBITAK projects, over 100 BAP projects and 1
HORIZON 2020 project carried out by our academic staff. SCI
and SCI-E scientific papers published by our department are
exceeded 100. There are 12 laboratories total in our depart-
ment. 5 of them are used for research. It is equipped with an
instrumental laboratory consisting of GC, GC-MS, TOC, HPLC
and AAS devices. There are also different water and wastewa-
ter qualification analysis devices such as TKN, flame photom-
eter, turbid meter, BOD meter, PH meter, incubator, spectro-
photometer, dissolved oxygen meter, and thermoreactor.
           • Electrical and Electronics Engineering
The department, founded in 1977, was one of the first depart-
ments to be established in our faculty. Every year 170 students
are enrolled in this department. The academic staff in this de-

sors, four assistant professors, one lecturer, and eight research
assistants. In the department, there are laboratories and re-
search units which enable undergraduate and graduate edu-
cation programs to be conducted in a practical manner. Those
are: Measurement and Analysis Laboratory, Electronic Circuits
Laboratory, Communication Laboratory, Logic Circuit Labora-
tory, Antenna and Microwave Laboratory, Electric Installation
           Laboratory, Instrumentation Laboratory, Control Laboratory,
