The first students to graduate from this department, which
was founded in 1991, did so in 1995. Evening classes started
in this department in 2004 and from then to the end of the
autumn term of the 2009-2010 academic year 581 students
graduated. The department accepts 200 students every year.
In 1997 graduate programs began and in 2009 doctoral de-
gree programs started being offered in our department.

The academic staff of this department consists of four profes-
sors, four associate professors, nine assistant professors, one
lecturer, one specialist, and five research assistants.
