           Engineering and Aerodynamics Laboratory, and Renewable
           Energy Laboratory. On the other hand, the ESE Student Club
           competes in annual races such as TUBITAK Efficiency Chal-
           lenge with electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles which are
           built by student members under the supervision of the aca-
           demic personnel of the department.
           • Food Engineering

           The department was established in 1998 and has been ac-
           cepting students for undergraduate and graduate programs
      FACULTIES  its first students in the same year. Undergraduate programs
           since 2004. The doctorate programs started in 2006 and took
           accept 30 students every year. The Department of Food Engi-
           neering consists of two major disciplines, which are Food Sci-
           ence and Food Technology. The teaching staff of our depart-
           ment consists of five professors, two associate professors, two
           assistant professors, and four research assistants.
           In the Department of Food Engineering, there are ten research
           and three application laboratories for researchers and stu-
           dents. There are high-performance liquid chromatography,
           gas chromatography, spectrometers, rheometer, desktop, re-
           fractometer, autoclave, a dry air sterilizer, various incubators
           and ovens, centrifuges, high-speed refrigerated centrifuge,
           prototype mixer, automatic oil extraction vehicle, PCR and a
           Kjeldahl protein determination systems as the main equip-
           ment. The department has four classrooms, one data show-
           room, and one conference room. In addition, there is a library
           for the use of undergraduate students.
           • Department of Geomatics Engineering

           The department was established in 1995 and started to allow
           its  first  students  in  2004.  It  comprises  six  sub-departments
           which are geodesy, photogrammetry, remote sensing, cartog-
           raphy, surveying technique, and land management.
           The academic staff of the department consists of three profes-
           sors, one associate professor, three assistant professors, and
           five research assistants. Today the department has more than
           800 undergraduate and more than 60 graduate students.
