FACULTY OF FINE ARTS







           BRIEF HISTORY
           The Faculty of Fine Arts, founded in 1993, admits students to
           the Departments of Painting, Sculpture, Music, Ceramics and
           Glass and Visual Communication Design. Other departments,
           such as Stage and Costume Design, Performing Arts, Photog-
           raphy, Furniture, and Accessory Design, Textile and Fashion
           Design, and Traditional Turkish Arts do not currently admit
           students but will do so once their curriculum has been formed
           and suitable academic staff have been appointed.
      FACULTIES  Our faculty, which provides four-year degree courses, admits
           PERIOD OF STUDY

           students by means of pre-registration and a skill-based exam.
           In order to allow graduates the opportunity to become teach-
           ers, students can also attend a teaching course.
           Currently, 453 students are enrolled at the faculty. The aca-
           demic staff of the faculty consists of five professors, nine asso-
           ciate professors, seven assistant professors, 29 lecturers, and
           eight research assistants.
           WHY THE FACULTY OF FINE ARTS?

           The Faculty aims at providing opportunities for creativity,
           serving society in the field of fine arts and design, being an in-
           stitution, which provides education at international standards
           both in the academic field and in research, in keeping with its
           desire to be a respected, internationally recognized faculty. In
           this respect, our goal is to be renowned both in Turkey and
           abroad for academic prestige and creative activities in sci-
           ence, fine arts, and design;

           •  To assist and host individuals who are leaders in their fields
             to develop their own original ideas and work.

           •  Able to regularly organize various broadcasts, television
             programs, mobile exhibitions, and workshops to promote
             the role of fine arts and design in society.
           •  Provide high-quality student-centered education by being
             aware of national interests.
