• Mechanical Engineering
The department started its degree program on March 1, 1977.
Our department has contributed to the training of engineers,
researchers, and scientists through undergraduate and grad-
uate programs. Our academic staff consists of 11 professors,
eight associate professors, 10 assistant professors, three lec-
turers, and 17 research assistants.

The department laboratories are as follows: Alternative Fuels
Research Laboratory, Automatic Control Laboratory, Compos-
ite Materials Laboratory, Composite Materials Testing Labo-
FACULTIES ratory, CAD/CAM Laboratory, Engine Test Laboratory, Fluid
Mechanics Laboratory, Heat Transfer Laboratory, Heat Treat-
ment Laboratory, Machine Dynamics Laboratory, Materials
Testing Laboratory, Mechanical Workshop, Mechanics Labo-
ratory, Metallography Laboratory, Plasma Laboratory, Surface
Technologies Research and Application Laboratory, Thermal
Technique Laboratory, Thermodynamics Laboratory, Tribol-
ogy Laboratory.

• Material Science and Engineering
The department of Material Science and Engineering was
founded in 2005. In 2009, the department started to accept
both graduate and undergraduate students. Our department
consists of three associate professors, three assistant profes-
sors, one lecturer, and four research assistants.

The infrastructure in the department includes cryostat, physi-
cal vapor deposition system, polymer injection, and blowing
units, ovens, optical microscopes, tribometers, etc. The labo-
ratories located in the department are: Material Processing
Laboratory, Thin Film Deposition and Characterization Labo-
ratory, Material Characterization Laboratory, Powder Process-
ing Laboratory
• Mechatronics Engineering

In the simplest sense, mechatronics is an engineering disci-
pline that deals with systems consisting of a combination of
mechanical, electronic and software-based components.
Mechatronics is a synergic combination of mechanical engi-
