neering, electronic, control and computer systems. It is an in-
terdisciplinary area of engineering that deals with the design
of advanced systems and products that are based on an in-
tegration of mechanics, electronics, computers, and software
technologies.
The Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Erciyes Uni-
versity was established in 2005. Currently, there are two pro-
fessors, one associate professor, five assistant professors, six
research assistants in the department. The laboratories in the
department are: Dr. Mehmet ALTUNER Mechatronics System
Laboratory, El-Cezeri Mobile Robotics Laboratory, Microcon-
trollers Laboratory, PLC Laboratory, Hydraulic and Pneumatic
Systems Laboratory, Design and Manufacturing Laboratory,
Fluid Systems Laboratory, Vibration, and Noise Measuring/
Analysis Laboratory, Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS)
Laboratory, Computer Laboratory

Seven professors, four associate professors, and two assistant
professors work under the roof of Textile Technology and Tex-
tile Sciences Programs of Textile Engineering Department.
The goal of the Department is to be a research-education in-
stitution that produces new and applicable information in the
broad field of textiles. The department laboratories provide
students at undergraduate and graduate levels with opportu-
nities for application studies. By these means, theoretical in-
formation is reinforced by practical application and this results
in well-qualified engineers. A virtual library has been formed
in the department which involves textile-based publications.
Laboratories that are present in the department of Textile En-
gineering are: Clothing Workshop, Clothing and Design Labo-
ratory, Ecological Textile Finishing Laboratory, Fiber Analysis,
and Testing Laboratory, Nonwoven Manufacturing Laborato-
ry, Polymer Processing and Characterization Laboratory, Tex-
tile Materials Testing Laboratory, Textile Dyeing and Chemical
Testing Laboratory, Textile Antimicrobial Testing Laboratory,
Textile Composite Materials Laboratory, Textile Comfort Labo-
ratory, Textile Sound Insulation Laboratory, Yarn Analysis and
Testing Laboratory
