The Turkish World Studies Center Office of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) was inaugurated at our university
ERU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Rector of Fergana State University Bahodirjon Shermuhammadovich, Special Representative of the Secretary General of TURKSOY Melik Özsöz, ERU Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Oktay Özkan and Prof. Dr. Cevdet Kırpık, Secretary-General Prof. Dr. İbrahim Narin, Assistant Secretaries General Prof. Dr. Afşın Alper Cerit and Dr. Oktay Musa Kayırga, Fergana Provincial Director of Tourism Dildorakhon Davlatyorova, Cultural and Arts Experts of TURKSOY Güler Fedai and Şehnaz Sonat, ERU senate members, academics, and students attended the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, our Rector wished success for the TURKSOY Office and said: “As Erciyes University, we strive to carry out such activities to make ERU Turkish World Studies Center more active in these matters and to further enhance relations in our heartland.”
Special Representative of the Secretary General of TURKSOY Melik Özsöz thanked our Rector and the university administration for their support in the establishment of the office. He said: “This office will not be just a regular liaison office for us, but when we come here, we will feel at home.”
Asst. Prof. Dr. Tekin Aycan Taşcı, Director of the Turkish World Studies Center, stated: “The opening of the TÜRKSOY Office will be an important step in getting to know, sharing, and carrying forward our common culture.”
After the speeches, the opening of the TÜRKSOY Office was held, and the officials informed the guests about the activities to be conducted at the office.
