Vieworks Visque InVivo ART100 device, the market value of which is approximately 5 Million TL, and which will facilitate the treatment methods of candidate drugs and the tests in animal experiments, was donated to the Genome and Stem Cell Center (Gen Kok) of our University by Femas Metal Industry and Trade Corporation on behalf of the late Businessman Recep Mamur.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çalış; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Hızır Yakup Akyıldız; Director of Gen Kok Prof. Dr. Yusuf Özkul; Director General Mehmet Erciyes, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the benevolent company Femas, and academics attended the device donation ceremony held at Gen Kok.
Speaking at the ceremony, Gen Kok faculty members Asst. Prof. Halil Ulutabanca and Asst. Prof. Ömer Aydın gave information about the areas of use of the Vieworks Visque InVivo ART100 device and gene-therapy studies carried out at Gen Kok.
Director of GENKOK Prof. Dr. Yusuf Özkul gave information about Gen Kok in his speech.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çalış drew attention the fact that Erciyes University is a university of high quality.
Stating that the benefactors as well as academic and administrative staff and students contributed greatly to the success of Erciyes University, Rector Çalış thanked Femas Board of Directors for the support.
Our Rector said: “The benefactors made significant contributions to the success of our university. We are grateful to them. In the last few years, devices worth 80 Million TL have been donated to our university. We are proud that our university has gained great achievements.”
Underlining that Gen Kok is one of the most important research centers of Erciyes University, Rector Çalış said: “The fields of engineering and medicine work collaboratively here. We have a very qualified team. Our researchers use our research centers very well. Teamwork is very important. Success cannot be achieved without teamwork. Infrastructure is required for this. Thank God, we have infrastructure. We will achieve very important success here. It is not a coincidence that we, as Erciyes University, have been ranked eighth in the research university ranking. People need to be motivated. We think that we have paved the way for our researchers. I hope this successful process will continue. Believe me, as these studies, projects, publications and patents emerge, the success level of Erciyes University will rise further.”
Speaking on behalf of Femas Board of Directors, Alufem Director General Mehmet Erciyes said: “As Erciyes University, significantly value-added works are carried out for the future of our country.We are really proud of the works that are carried out as we evaluate from the point of view of the industrial sector.”
After the speeches, our Rector presented Alufem Director General Mehmet Erciyes with a plaque.
