Our Rector congratulated Prof. Dr. Abdullah Demirtaş on his 3 New Surgical Treatment Methods

Our Rector congratulated Prof. Dr. Abdullah Demirtaş, a faculty member at the Department of Urology, Faculty of Medicine, on his 3 new surgical treatment methods he contributed to the Medical Literature, and presented a plaque.

Visiting our Rector in his office, Professor Demirtaş gave information to our Rector about his treatment methods.

Drawing attention to the definition of a new treatment method by showing with his first study that kidneys can be saved at the rate of 50% in occluded kidneys, Prof. Demirtaş said: “Although this technique is defined in adults, it is a treatment method that can be applied to all patients regardless of age.”

Secondly, Prof. Demirtaş gave information about “Demirtaş-Erciyes Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy (De-Lap) Surgery Technique,” which they obtained similar results with robotic surgery in patients with prostate cancer (DOI: 10.4274 / jus.galenos.2020.3730). He said: “Thanks to this technique, high treatment success has been gained with low operation cost. This study was presented as video presentation at the 14 th National Endourology Congress held on April 1-4, 2021 and received the third prize.”

Finally, Prof. Demirtaş, who gave information about the technique he developed in the surgical treatment of benign prostate enlargement (BPH), contributed to the literature with the technique in which the name of our university is referred, “Demirtaş-Erciyes Enucleation Prostatectomy (Deep): Reverse SJ Incision, 2 Lobes, Two-Stage Technique, which was presented as a video presentation at the 14 th National Endourology Congress held on April 1- 4, 2021. He said: “This technique can be applied with laser technologies as well as with other types of energy. It comes to the forefront as a technique that provides convenience especially for beginner physicians.”

Our Rector said: “As Erciyes University Administration, we always continue and will continue to support our researchers and students. I congratulate our faculty member, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Demirtaş, on his contributions to the literature with his new surgical treatment methods.”

Following the speeches, our Rector presented a plaque to Professor Demirtaş for his new surgical treatment methods. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Hızır Yakup Akyıldız, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, accompanied Professor Demirtaş.
