The awards found its owners at the 9th Kayseri Altın Çınar (Golden Sycamore) Film Festival held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and in cooperation with the Anatolian Filmmakers Association and Erciyes University.
Within the framework of the festival, national short film and national documentary film competitions were held in order to support the young filmmakers. A total of 261 films applied for the festival. 10 films each advanced to the final and 8 films each entered the screening selection. The national short film and national documentary film juries consisting of the leading names of the sector carefully watched the finalist films and determined the films worthy of the award.
In the award ceremony held with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çalış, Kayseri Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Dr. Şükrü Dursun, Deputy Mayor of Talas Municipality İsmail Güngör, ERU Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Hakan Aydın and Department Head of Radio, TV and Cinema Prof. Dr. Vahit İlhan; in the category of national documentary film competition, Ersen Çıra was worthy of the special jury award for his film ““’EDE’ Bir Ayrılık, Bir Yoksulluk, Bir Ölüm”; on the other hand, Neşe Uğur Nohutcu was awarded the best documentary film award for her film “Töz”. In the category of national short film competition, Ege Karakurt was worthy of the honorable mention award for his film “Düdük”; Muhammet Furkan Daşbilek was entitled to receive jury special award for his film “Bir Nehir Kıyısında”, and Çağıl Bocut was awarded the best film award for the film “Brigitte Bardot”.
In addition to the film screenings and competitions, the festival where various workshops and interviews were held for four days with master names ended with a magnificent award ceremony and concert.
