The Faculty of Pharmacy was reaccredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Pharmacy Education Programs (ECZAKDER).

Our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oktay Özkan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Mükerrem Betül Aycan, ECZAKDER Administrative Board Members Prof. Dr. Mesut Sancar and Prof. Dr. Şule Apikoğlu, academics and students attended the accreditation certificate presentation ceremony held at Sabancı Cultural Complex.

Making a speech at the event, Prof. Dr. Mükerrem Betül Aycan gave information about the accreditation process. Chairman of the 12th Region Kayseri Chamber of Pharmacists Uğur Nuri Akın congratulated the Faculty of Pharmacy.

Giving information about the activities of ECZAKDER, Prof. Dr. Mesut Sancar said: “Accreditation practices enable not only commercial goods and services, but also to improve the quality of education in a higher education institution, and also allow that institution to be recognized by the public. The most important aim of the quality assurance in higher education institutions is to ensure that the students enrolled in education programs can access target qualifications.”

Touching upon the importance of accreditation processes in his speech, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oktay Özkan underlined that accreditation programs are indispensable especially for research universities. He continued as follows: “Accreditation processes which are challenging significantly contribute to our university. Our university has a considerable research potential. The biggest reason for this is that we have young academic staff. Up to the present, our university has achieved outstanding success with great efforts. The Faculty of Pharmacy has undergone this process before and is accredited for the second time. Sustainability is really important. We would like to thank each member of the Faculty of Pharmacy for providing this sustainability.”

Professor Özkan also added: “Our university and Faculty of Pharmacy achieve new successes by making progress every day with R&D, university-industry co-operations, undergraduate and graduate education thanks to the qualified academic staff and developing infrastructure opportunities.”
